Kate Somerville SMOOCH

Kate Somerville is a renowned dermatologist who has a great track record with creating wonderful products. I spotlighted Exfolikate in my January Fabufinds, so you may already know my fascination with that product. Some of her products are very expensive, but she does have a few fair priced ones and a good deal can help get your feet in the door on trying more. She has one of the best rewards programs available (outside of a broad store), so joining the rewards program also helps get a fantastic deal.

If you’ve never shopped there before, make sure you sign up for emails and join the rewards program. Every time you open an email, you get 5 rewards points. You will also get a welcome offer for 10% off and an Exfolikate mini. She sends frequent offers that are only good for one day. I do not update offers everyday, so your best shot at seeing all the deals is to subscribe to emails. The rewards programs also gives you points for enrolling, connecting to social media, referring friends, writing product reviews, making a purchase, and more. It is easy to accumulate points, and the rewards are fantastic. At 400 points, you can trade them in for a $10 gift card. Select a 4oz cleanser with 500 points. For 800 points, you can redeem for a $25 gift card.

Although I love a free cleanser as much as the next person, I suggest the gift cards. The codes go in the gift card field, so you can still use a promo code with the order. I had over 800 points, so I was waiting on a promo code to make the most of my gift card. A great promo arrived, so it was time to place my order. Promo code SMOOCH gives free shipping and a 5oz Gentle Daily Face Wash on any purchase. Considering the cleanser has a $44 value, selecting something that cost less than $44 makes the promo more valuable than your cost. This promo is valid through 09/01/15, so you still have time to redeem it. I actually thought it was funny that the promo was a face wash, because I could get the $25 gift card AND the face wash this way. It was perfect, and the face wash is actually a full ounce bigger than the full size. Now, that’s a promo.

On 08/25/15, I selected the 1oz Eradikate Acne Treatment. This retails for $24. Kate Somerville does not collect sales tax for my state, so my grand total was also $24. After applying my gift card, my total was zero. There is still $1 left on my gift card, too. Thanks to the promo code, I also bypassed the normal $50 shipping minimum. Of course, I also selected three samples that come free with every order.

When my order arrived two days later (yes only two days later), I was thrilled to see a bonus foil. In a world where missing samples is more usual than extra samples, a little bonus always feels great. Rather than selecting foils I know and love, I decided to try three new products. I selected RetAsphere 2-in-1 Retinol Night Cream, CytoCell™ P299 Oil Free Anti Wrinkle Serum, and Quench Hydrating Face Serum. As soon as I try them, I will let you know what I think.

The bonus sample is the Hydrating Acne Gel. Most acne gels dry my skin out, and despite the acne, it is very dry in certain parts. This product does not do that. Although I prefer Eradikate to treat acne, I do appreciate this product. Seeing an extra one thrown in that I already know and love was awesome. At least one sample will hit!

That means I got 4 foils, free shipping, a 5oz face wash, and a 1oz Acne treatment all for free using rewards points. If you are shopping there and not taking advantage of rewards points, correct that immediately. I love the products, but I love the rewards and promotions offered even more. Remember to check all offers before placing an order. See all Kate Somerville articles. View my main page for the guide map to the site and deeper deal exploration.

I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (12 and 7) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 12-year-old to apply it.

Deal or No Deal? What Do You Think?
