When I walked around my gym, I felt like I looked frumpy. Some may think, it’s a gym, who cares what you look like? The thing is it seems like most of the women in my gym do care what they look like when they work out. I am not referring to the women who workout in full hair and makeup (which is another story altogether), but I am referring to those who actually wear quality workout gear. Most of my workout gear was on the cheaper side, because I never put much thought into it. After much consideration, I finally decided to put a little more effort into my gym clothes.
Fabletics provides quality workout gear for a decent discount over buying the similar items from sporting good stores. They’re cute and high quality. You can even get 50% off your first outfit making the first outfit an incredible deal too good to pass up. I was happy to see that there was no wait. I signed up in May, and my first choice was immediate. As it turns out, I actually find workouts more comfortable in nicer attire, so that is an added bonus. Of course, I like the way the outfits look on as much as I like the way they feel.
The first outfit I selected, Tree Islands, has a $109.90 value. That is $59.95 for the shirt, and $49.95 for the pants. My newly minted VIP membership price was $59.95. With VIP pricing, you are essentially buying the shirt and getting the pants for free. New members get a 50% discount on their first order, so I paid $29.97 for the cute outfit. I really loved the back of the shirt when I first saw it. It looks like three pieces, but the sports bra is built in. You are not limited to one outfit a month if you want to build your wardrobe a little faster. Orders over $49.95 and your first order ship free. Place additional orders throughout the month or get extra items with your monthly outfit.
You also get two rewards points for every dollar you spend. That meant I started off with 60 rewards points for this $29.97 purchase. Once I reviewed the outfit, I received 20 reward points for each item. This outfit was two pieces, so I received 40 points for telling Fabletics how cute the outfit is and how much I enjoyed the quality. With 100 points thanks to this order, I am on my way. At 300 points, I can start redeeming for rewards. I may save them them a bit longer to receive for something more valuable though.
The material of the top is 89% polyester and 11% spandex. That makes the material not only feel almost silky and thick, but it also helps the moisture wicking claims of the material. It is like Nike Dri Fit material, although Dri Fit has a more proprietary blend. This piece also claims: it is smooth, chafe-resistant, four-way stretching, has a mesh back, and an adjustable hem. All claims seem true. Although, I admit I am unsure what four-way stretching means exactly other than what I presume is up, down, left, and right. The material is extremely stretchy, so I have no doubt it moves every way it claims. I love the adjustable hem pictured at the bottom right of the shirt. For yoga, I tighten the hem to keep my stomach from popping out. When I am running, I loosen the hem for full range of motion. The mesh back only pertains to the sports bra part, but I actually prefer that the shirt itself is not mesh. It is a Heather Grey Taos Print.
I was surprised to see the pants had a similar material makeup to the shirt. The material there is 88% polyester and 12% spandex. How does the 1% change make the material feel so different? It also seems like the slight change in the pants was to make them slightly softer. Soft workout pants that are also flexible and moisture wicking are what I look for. Other than the mesh back and adjustable hem, these pants boast all the same benefits as the shirt. All claims are correct here as well.
You also get to select a free magazine subscription with each purchase. Does anyone pay for magazine subscriptions anymore? Between redeeming unused airline miles before they expire and all the places that give them free with orders, I cannot remember the last time I paid for a magazine subscription. I selected In Style this month, which is actually one of the magazines I actually paid for back when buying them was a thing. They do not give your credit card info to the magazine either, so your subscription will not auto-renew.
If you are not feeling any of the outfit options or need to sit out for any other reason, you can skip as many months as you want to. Log in between the 1st and the 5th of each month to select your outfit or skip the month entirely. Members who forget the selection period will be charged $49.95 to the card on file on the 6th and given 1 credit to use toward a future outfit. Reminder emails make it hard to forget. Outfits start at $49.95, but you can choose to more expensive outfit options. They fit true to size, so order your normal size.
If you have not joined yet, you can get 50% off your first order. You can opt out of any month you do not want to purchase. Read more about the program or visit the retailer page. Although you can shop Fabletics without a membership, these special prices are only available to subscribers. See all Fabletics store and subscription purchases. I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (12 and 7) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 12-year-old to apply it.
