I’ve often wondered why some people choose to pay full price on items without any promos, perks, samples or anything. We all do it from time to time, because deal hunting can be a lot of work. Sometimes items are excellent and stand on their own without a deal. Other times, there are no deals to be had. Even when we’ve done our research, we can feel downright discouraged later when we find out we did not get the best deal after all. The love of the deal and the hunt is half the fun for me.
When it comes to television, I have two guilty pleasures. One is Days of Our Lives. I have watched it on and off since I was 13. It is the only soap opera I’ve ever really watched. Years ago when Passions came on after DoOL, I would watch some episodes. That really was soapy even for a soap opera, so I never really got into it. I do remember the current Rafe and Brady were also on Passions, but I cannot remember their character names.
The other show I love is The Real Housewives of most cities. I seriously love all of the ladies on all the shows I watch: Beverly Hills, OC, New York, New Jersey, and Atlanta. When I heard the original Billie and Kristen Dimera were coming to Beverly Hills, I was excited. My two favorite one hour soap dramas were combining. As if I could love Lisa Rinna any more, I heard her say this on one of the episodes, “Who loves shopping more than me? I don’t think anyone. Who loves a deal more than me? I don’t think anyone. Guilty as charged.”
They are questions I ask myself often, too. Who loves shopping more than I do? Who loves a deal more than I do? I cannot think of anyone, so I am also guilty as charged. If you find yourself wondering the same things, you are most certainly a deal shopper. Deals really do make shopping more fun and finding like minded people who have the same interests makes the hunt even better.
I am sure the most common answers to why some people choose not to deal shop are time and loyalty. Deal shopping takes time, and loyalty to certain retailers or brands can pay off in other ways besides deals. When people deal shop, I just feel more of a camaraderie with them. The deal rules! I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (12 and 7) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 12-year-old to apply it.
