I love collecting beauty products. For some reason, I seem to get mascara from everywhere. Despite giving them away, I still always seem to have 40-50 on hand. A lot may be thinking that would be a great problem to have. The problem is mascara does not last forever. If I do not eventually use them, they will go bad before they ever see the light of day. My last mascara, Too Faced Better than Sex, was tossed weeks ago. I have not used one since. It is time to open another one, so I can actually use some of this amazing mascara stash of mine.
Most of my mascaras are minis, which I prefer. I throw them away as suggested right around the three month mark. Even in mini size, I have never used one completely up by then. The full sized ones, with the exception of my precious (Definicils) came in kits, subscription boxes or for my birthday (CK One from Ulta). Why on earth would I buy Definicils despite having so many mascaras? It is my all time favorite mascara, so I pick it up at times when I need something to grab for a Lancome GWP. We all know Lancome is one of the three GWP kings. I will touch back on that in a different article (and link it here once I’ve written it). Now, let’s get back to the topic at hand, Mascara!
The thought of tossing a full sized Definicils makes me sad, so I tend to gift them to someone without an insane mascara stash while I try one of my many samples. I am down to my final full-size and am contemplating opening it. Here is what is stopping me. I have 54 mascara type products that are unopened. Of those 54, two are brow gels, one is a lash growth serum (use on my brows, not my lashes), and 7 are mascara primers. That means, I have 44 mascaras. There are so many ones that look appealing. I thought YSL BabyDoll would be my next one if I could resist the urge to open the Definicils. Then, I got a mini makeover at the Nordstrom Beauty Trend Show. This is another topic I will discuss in a later article. Joshua and YSL National Makeup artist, Armando Ramos, made me look great. This is a picture of him, not me!
The only problem was I was not overly impressed with the Babydoll mascara Joshua used. I find myself staring over the mascaras not knowing which one to open. I have tried very few of these. Any of them could be an amazing discovery waiting to happen. The list and pictures of my available mascaras are available below. I will probably wear mascara again on Thursday. Between now and then, I will select the one that gets the highest number of votes that I have not yet tried. Part of my fun with beauty is exploration into new items, which is why I want to try a new one rather than keeping the Definicils and giving all the rest away. Write in the comments below which one I should try next. For people who do not venture over to my site, I will post a thread on Beautytalk and combine the results.
I have very light lashes that are blonde at the tips. They do not hold a curl and are pretty straight. Without mascara, my lashes look tiny. With one coat, they look normal. Some people think they look long with two coats, because I cover the blonde tips. If there is any other info you need to make an informed selection, just ask. Thanks.
For those in my giveaway, if there are any here you would love to try, please let me know. I am going to try to tailor the box as much as possible to the winner. It will help if I do not use one that does not have a duplicate if that is the one you must try! A CILS booster will definitely make it into the giveaway. If you do not already love it, you will very soon.

I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (12 and 7) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 12-year-old to apply it.
